While the crystal bowls guide the experience, the wind through the trees, the rustle of autumn leaves, and the cicadas, crickets, and katydids will provide nature's own accompaniment. You will delight in the deep listening while Brooke plays with them, making a unique, interactive sonic experience with the living elements of the natural world.
This restorative experience invites you to relax, listen deeply, and reconnect with nature and yourself on Frick's beautiful grounds.
Guests are encouraged to bring a mat, blanket, or lawn chair and get comfortable on the lawn. Feel free to arrive 30 minutes early to wander the grounds and ease into the experience.

It is said that the crystal bowls generate both an ambient and visceral vibration experience. Brooke's compositions intentionally produce an "acoustic alchemy" of Pythagorean tunings and musical mathematics that generate unique sound forms and colorful, textured soundscapes. The sonic experience encourages an increased auditory awareness and "deep listening" and induces a relaxed and meditative state.
Brooke Smokelin aka Vox Lumina is a pioneer and visionary in the field of sound healing and has been playing the crystal bowls for 30 years!
She has toured all over the country offering concerts, sound baths and musical medicine experiences.
As an environmental artist and educator, she has traveled worldwide using sound and specific frequency as a way for people to reconnect and re-harmonize with the natural world. She has a private sound therapy and energy/embodiment activation practice in Pittsburgh, PA.
